Dollar gains vs rupee
|
The dollar gained value against the rupee in the interbank market, dealers said on Wednesday. It started the day’s trading at Rs 97.40 for buying, up by 20 paisas and closed at Rs 97.60 for buying and Rs 97.80 for selling.
The euro also got strength against rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 134.37 for buying, closed at Rs 134.86 for buying after gaining 49 paisas and closed at Rs 134.86 for selling.
The pound sterling also up against the local currency as it initiated the day’s trading at Rs 163.57 for buying, gained 71 paisas and closed at Rs 164.28 for buying and Rs 164.61 for selling.
Open market: The dollar remained flat against the rupee, dealers said. It started the day’s trading at Rs 99.40 for buying and closed without any variation in value at same level for buying and stood at Rs 99.65 for selling.
The euro up versus the rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 136.50 for buying, gained 50 paisas and closed at Rs 137 for buying and Rs 137.25 for selling. The pound also gained against the rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 166.25 for buying, up by 75 paisas and closed at Rs 167 for buying and Rs 167.25 for selling.
