Maritime India Summit Opens Doors for Investors in Maritime Sector: ChPT Chairman Raveendran

CHENNAI: Highlighting the salient features of Maritime India Summit 2021 scheduled from 2-4 March, Shri P Raveendran, Chairman, Chennai Port Trust (ChPT) recently said that the proposed summit opens doors for investors in maritime sector.
“India has nearly 7500 kilometers of coastal area having vast potential for growth on maritime-related industrial activities like modernization of port, dredging work, waterways development between ports,” Raveendran said.
Further, he said the summit is organized in association with FICCI, will attract many industrialists to invest, those intends to participate can book a stall to showcase their products and all those who wish to interact with them will be virtual only. The Maritime India Summit provides a platform for international collaboration which will have virtual presence of Shipping and Transport Ministers.
15 MOUS WILL BE SIGNED
Also, the summit will be attended by Foreign dignitaries from Port and shipping industry. The are 15 MOUs will be signed , some of the prominent projects are University for Maritime studies to create opportunity for Jobs in Ports for the students, Logistics facility in Meppedu near Sriperumbudur in collaboration with National Highways Logistics at a cost of 1500 crores to cater needs of port users and logistics industry, Rail wagon transportation from Chennai to Jolarpet in collaboration with Indian Ports Rail Corporation Ltd (IRPC), supply of power to both Indian and foreign vessels, IOC bunkering ship fuel by CPTL and many more.
The MIS will be inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister in the presence of Union Minister of Shipping and Minister of Transports through virtual meeting.
Initially, U.R.Mohan Raju, Secretary, Chennai Port Trust, welcomed the media and other participants briefed about the MIS 2021 and Balaji Arun Kumar, Dy. Chairman of Chennai Port Trust, explained about the procedures to enroll as participants and the agenda for the proposed summit.
The media persons raised some questions on the Summit 2021 and the chairman clarified all the doubts. He said that there are more opportunity for the investors to promote their business by investing in the projects for which dedicated sessions are allotted in the Summit.
Overall, the Maritime India Summit 2021 will open doors for industries to invest in Maritime Projects in India and welcomed all to participate in the Summit for mutual benefits and for the Trade as well.
